How to Become a Morning Person

The majority of people want to have a productive morning routine and wake up early. An example of this motivation to be a morning person is the 'That' Girl tend. But becoming a morning person starts with habits. Keep in mind that you may not become a morning person right away. and that's okay!


Get a good nights sleep

If you want to wake up early and feel energized then get a good sleep. meaning don't stay up till 1 am. Having a good night routine and going to bed at a reasonable time will help you tons. start unwinding at least 40mins before bed.


Consistency

Keep a consistent wake-up time and bedtime. "Consistency matters because going to bed at the same time and waking up at the same time is key to shifting your sleep pattern"(Headspace). Consistency = Habits, eventually your body will be used to waking up early and it will become easier to wake up.


Ditch the Caffeine

Avoid having coffee in the late afternoon. Research shows that coffee after 2 pm disrupts sleep. And if you have interrupted sleep you will have a lack of energy in the morning. But go ahead and have caffeine in the morning!


Let light in

As soon as you wake up open up your curtains to let the light in. It will make it more difficult for you to fall back asleep. Also, do your best to not press snooze. to avoid pressing snooze put your phone far away from your bed.


Get Moving

Once your alarm is off get up right away. Stretch your body, drink some water, make your bed, etc. If you lay in your bed for too long chances are you'll fall back to sleep.


Mindset

Start encouraging yourself and plan something small to look forward to in the morning. Start thinking you can do it! At first, waking up might feel like a chore but eventually, it will be a habit. Begin saying I am a morning person.
